Art historian and writer. My research focuses on art and material culture in the United States in the long nineteenth century.
I am a PhD candidate in the Department of the History of Art at Yale University, where I’m at work on a dissertation entitled “Reconstruction’s Objects: Art in the United States South, 1861-1900.” My professional experience includes work at the Museum of Modern Art, the Whitney Museum of American Art, and Tate Britain. In 2024-25, I am the Joe and Wanda Corn Predoctoral Fellow at the Smithsonian American Art Museum.
